Having worked closely with EMI seals and Gaskets Ltd, this German Manufacture was delighted to discover that, when they decided to seek INMETRO Certification, that it could be done quickly and easily just by using EMIís existing test reports, therefore opening the doors to a whole new market.   ...

The above picture are of a new range of Oil Seals and ‘V’ Rings we have recently designed and manufactured that were tested and passed to fit on a range of High Voltage Induction Motors being used in Hazardous area environments around the world where there are extreme testing requirements on the materials for temperature, media, dynamic parameters, and of course influences like Ozone which High Voltage motors produce. The customer, a major multinational manufacturer, was faced with finding a manufacturer who could manufacture all the Seals and Gaskets to seal their Terminal boxes and motor case bodies, as well as manufacture the other items like O rings and Oil Seals, V Rings and Packing’s. We can now confirm officially that EMI Seals and Gaskets Ltd have successfully tested a number of materials to meet the Resistance to Light (UV) test requirements of IEC 60079-0: 2011: Clause 26.10 and IECEx Decision Sheet ExTAG DS 2012/011. This means we can now proceed to update our existing IECEx TEST REPORT of PARTIAL TESTING number GB/BAS/ExTR13.0079/00 to also state that EMI Gasket Material EMI-01-255FR is UV resistant. Along with our very special proprietary 401-255FR Closed Cell Silicone sponge we also tested a further six of our Rubber grades including, a Solid Silicone, a Solid Fluorosilicone, a Solid Fluorocarbon (Viton), a Silicone Sponge, a Fluorosilicone Sponge and finally a Fluorocarbon (Viton) Sponge. All of these grades can be moulded, fabricated and bonded as well as cut into seals and gaskets.   ...
